About Us
Pekary School of Dance offers classes in Tap, Ballet, Contemporary, Ballroom & Latin, whilst also providing private wedding day dance lessons. Exam awards and grading are also available. The school choreographs and performs in a Christmas Show each year, as well as community events such as local pantomimes, competitions and fundraising events. All ages from 18 months and above will receive a warm welcome, great support and tutoring, and most importantly have fun making new friends.
Our History
Pekary School of Dance was established in 2006 with the support of Harry Marks of Harry & Sybil Marks School of Dance. Continuing the ethos of this much loved school, Pekary School of Dance creates a warm environment to enable all students to develop their dance techniques, knowledge and skills whilst also developing socially, physically, intellectually, emotionally, creatively and culturally both as individuals and as a dance school. By providing this safe environment, students not only learn the discipline and deportment of dance but also learn to work together in a friendly and supportive manner, creating lifelong friendships, building confidence and learning many life skills along the way. For those who wish to further their dance experience through examinations, Pekary School of Dance offers Awards and Grading opportunities each year and to date can boast a success rate of 100%. With a lifelong love of dance firmly rooted in enjoyment of the art, Miss Hannah (Principal Tutor) strives to ensure that all of the Pekary School of Dance students experience the beauty of dancing in a nurturing environment that focuses on fun and friendship.
Tutors
Miss Hannah Pekary BA Hons PGCE is both the founder and Principal Tutor of Pekary School of Dance.
Miss Hannah began dancing at the age of 4, gaining much experience and training under Harry Marks of Harry & Sybil Marks School of Dance where she began her teaching career. As the last teacher at the renowned school, Miss Hannah developed Pekary School of Dance with the support and encouragement of her former tutor, Harry. Her years of training fed her passion for dance which led Miss Hannah to complete her BA Dance degree at Winchester University, and upon returning to Wales, she completed her PGCE. This enables Pekary School of Dance to offer students BTEC, GCSE and A’Level qualifications as well as the standard awards and grades. As well as teaching, Miss Hannah has also performed with many dance companies to both local and national audiences.
